Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic

TOUCH.SHARE.PLAY

The latest & the most inn-thing now are TOUCH SCREEN phones which can do almost everything for you and provide you with the coolest features! And that phone is the all new Nokia XpressMusic 5800. It was launched in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia just last week and now has attracted quite an entourage at their recent launch of the Nokia XMP 5800 at Pavilion KL.

Possibly the best opening gambit ever for a launch of a mobile phone here in Malaysia i've ever seen and the best i've seen for January 2009! The Bukit Bintang entrance of Pavilion was crowded with phone enthusiasts and those who have heard so much about the Nokia 5800 for this night of mayhem celebration.

The opening gambit by street percussion troupe Strikefroce! from Singapore was awesome! You could possibly hear them stomping the crowd all the way from KLCC! (aighttt that might be a lil' bit too much! lol).. Anyways apart from the STRIKEFORCE! there are other local artists from Nokia Independent Artists Club (Nokia IAC) such as Dose 2, A Mantle The Sea, Lovesick Avenue and 40 Winks.

What you guys have been waiting for is probably wanting to know the price of this first S60 TOUCH SCREEN phone by Nokia. Don't worry about it... yes it's made affordable! Many were SURPRISED when they first found out the price of the phone, well yes it's true - the retail price of the Nokia 5800 is @ RM1,499.00 bundled with 1,000 free songs that has been specially catered to the Malaysian market.

For Vlasta Berka, the General Manager of Nokia Malaysia - feels that MUSIC is a universal thing that connects people with one another and that the way people enjoy music is different around the world. Therefore with that in mind comes the Nokia XpressMusic 5800 giving the freedom that YOU want to experience music the way you love it!

The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic bring you a new music experience with all the music essentials including a graphic equalizer, 8GB memory for up to 6000 tracks and support for all main digital music formats, and a 3.5mm jack. Oh yeah... not forgetting a built-in surround sound stereo speakers offering POWERFUL SOUND!!!

Some of the features that is packed with the Nokia 5800 is the Nokia Contacts Bar that's like an RSS feed on the life of your contacts! :P Oh and the Media Bar which is a handy drop down menu for direct access to music and entertainment (music, videos and photos)!.

One thing cool about the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is that it supports flash content, GUESS what you can do with this!!! (Well if you do use your current phone to surf the net...you would know that its kinda hard to do so), but with this the Nokia 5800 allows you to surf the ENTIRE WEB and not just pieces of it!

Now, i'm going to have my say about the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. All in all i have to say that its an impressive piece of technology that i would want to get my hands on. WHY??? You may ask... well check this out:
* 35 hrs of music playback

* Create your own playlist on the go.

* You can play game with motion sensing (this is so awesome, but imagine playing this in the LRT) - People might think you're nuts! But you know you're not... oh well its AWESOME!

* The video playback quality on the Nokia 5800 is the same as that you get on the Nokia N96 and N95. AWESOME innit!!!

* Proximity Sensor - you know how our weather sometimes makes our face oily and when you handle a call your cheek and parts of your face touches the screen and may accidentally activate one of the buttons! Oh well FEAR NO MORE - withe the proximity sensor it locks the buttons on the phone automatically during a phone call when it senses that the screen is near to your face!

* Other touch screen phones may not have TACTILE FEEDBACK - What is this you may ask??? Well its when you key in numbers or type a text message and you'll feel a tad bit of a vibration to let you know that you have keyed in the button. Normally on a keypad phone you will hear the BEEP sound. Yes TACTILE FEEDBACK helps alot on a touch screen phone!

* If you have big fingers and you're scared that this touch screen phone on-screen buttons are too small for you! FRET NOT, cause NOKIA has done all the thinking and worrying for you! There's the Mini Qwerty keyboard and the FULL SCREEN Qwerty keyboard for those who have big fingers like me. This HELPS!!! Also do enjoy typing into the phone using the provided stylus and pick that's attached to the phone's string.

If all those are not enough to get you onboard the bandwagon with me to use the all new NOKIA 5800 XpressMusic phone - checkout the features here:

- Contacts Bar - user interface with visualized contacts for easy to share media and communicate with your friends.
